Biography
Angeliki Papoulia is a Greek actress and theatre director. She graduated from the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of Athens and the Empros Theatre Drama School in 2000. In 2004 she co-founded the blitz theatre group, with which she has written, directed and performed in numerous productions presented across Europe.
She is known for her collaborations with director Yorgos Lanthimos, appearing as the Older Daughter in Dogtooth (2009), the Nurse in Alps (2011) and the Heartless Woman in The Lobster (2015). She has also worked with Syllas Tzoumerkas in A Blast (2014) and The Miracle of the Sargasso Sea (2019). For her role in Dogtooth she received the Heart of Sarajevo award for Best Actress at the 2009 Sarajevo Film Festival (shared with Mary Tsoni).
