Biography
Anita Doron is a Hungarian-Canadian writer and director. Born on 3 June 1974 in Berehove, Ukraine (then part of the USSR), she is best known for writing the screenplay for the 2017 animated feature The Breadwinner.
The film, directed by Nora Twomey and based on Deborah Ellis's novel, received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Animated Feature. Doron's screenplay won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and was nominated for an Annie Award and a Humanitas Prize. She previously wrote and directed the 2012 adaptation of Richard Van Camp's novel The Lesser Blessed and is a TED Fellow.
