Biography
Anke Engelke is a German comedian, actress, voice actress and television presenter. Born on 21 December 1965 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she moved to Germany with her family as a child and began appearing on radio and television at a young age.
She rose to prominence as a member of the ensemble on the Sat.1 comedy series Die Wochenshow (1996–2000) and with her own sketch show Ladykracher (2002–2013). Engelke has appeared in films including Manitou's Shoe (2001) and The Trixxer (2004), and she has voiced Marge Simpson on the German dub of The Simpsons since 2007. She played Barbara Dietrich in the Amazon series Deutschland (2018–2020).
Engelke has received several awards, including a Grimme-Preis.
