Biography
Ann Chegwidden was a British film and television editor. She was born on 27 April 1921 in Hampstead, London, and died on 6 September 2007 in London.
She began her career in the late 1940s as an assistant sound editor on films including The Perfect Woman (1949) and Seven Days to Noon (1950). Her editing credits include The Masque of the Red Death (1964), Daleks' Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. (1966), Wuthering Heights (1970), And Soon the Darkness (1970) and episodes of The Avengers (1968–1969). She also edited episodes of Dick Turpin (1979–1982) and The Flame Trees of Thika (1981), and served as supervising editor on The Heart of the Dragon (1985).
Chegwidden received three BAFTA nominations and won an Emmy Award for editing the 1974 documentary The Baboons of Gombe.
