Biography

Ann Hollowood was a costume designer whose credits include numerous television series and films. She worked on The Muppet Show and supplied costumes for guest stars across its run. Her early credits also encompass Edward the King (1975) and The Railway Children (1968).

Hollowood specialised in fantasy costumes for Jim Henson's Creature Shop projects. She designed for the series The Storyteller (1987–1988), receiving a BAFTA Television Craft Award for Best Costume Design in 1989. She contributed to The Storyteller: Greek Myths (1991), Nightbreed (1990), The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) and Merlin (1998).

Further credits include The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns (1999), Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story (2001) and The Ten Commandments (2006). Hollowood won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Costume Design for a Miniseries or Movie for Merlin in 1998 and shared an earlier Emmy for Edward the King. She died in February 2014 in the UK.
