Biography
Ann Rye (1935–2019) was a British actress. Born Ann Margaret Nicholson Rye on 15 February 1935 in Staple, Kent, she appeared in film and television from the 1960s onwards. She died on 27 August 2019 in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
Her film credits include the role of Mandy Babbage in Don't Look Now (1973) and Margaret, the farmer's wife, in Blow Dry (2001). On television she appeared in The Avengers (1961 and 1969), Sherlock Holmes (1984), multiple episodes of Coronation Street between 1970 and 2005, and Shameless (2004 and 2007). She was married to actors Andrew Laurence and Brian Poyser.
