Biography
Anna Franquesa Solano is a Spanish cinematographer. Born in Barcelona in 1984, she trained at the New York Film Academy.
She is known for her work as director of photography on the feature film The Farewell (2019), directed by Lulu Wang, and the Amazon limited series Expats (2023–2024), also directed by Wang. Her credits include additional features such as Venus by Water (2021) and Cantando en las azoteas (2022), as well as commercials and shorts.
Franquesa Solano’s work has screened at festivals including Cannes, Sundance and Telluride. The Farewell won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature; she received an AICP Award for her cinematography on the Apple commercial “Nian”.
