Biography
Anna Valdez Hanks, also credited as Anna Valdez-Hanks or Anna Hanks, is a cinematographer. She began her career as a camera trainee and advanced through roles as clapper loader, focus puller and camera operator on features and high-end dramas.
In 2015 she became the first cinematographer named a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit and was selected as a Berlinale Talent in 2016. Her credits as director of photography include episodes of the series Silo (2023–), Culprits (2023), Magpie Murders (2022), Temple (2019) and the feature Hope Gap (2019). She provided additional photography on Endgame (2009). Her short-film work includes Mile End (2015), which won best narrative feature at the New York City Independent Film Festival in 2016.
