Biography
Anne-Grethe Bjarup Riis is a Danish actress, director and writer. She was born on 21 November 1965 in Herning and graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 1992.
She is known for her role as Katrine in Lars von Trier’s The Idiots (1998). Other screen credits include Halalabad Blues (2002), We Shall Overcome (2006) as Stine, Take the Trash (2008) as Elin and appearances in television series such as Nynne and Anna Pihl. She was a member of the satirical theatre ensemble Emmas Dilemma from 1995 to 2005.
Riis made her feature directorial debut with This Life (2012), which was seen by more than 760,000 cinema-goers in Denmark, and followed it with Catch the Dream (2013).
