Biography
Annette K. Olesen is a Danish director and screenwriter. She was born on 20 November 1965 in Copenhagen and graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 1991.
Olesen made her feature film debut with Minor Mishaps (2002), which premiered in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival and won the Blue Angel award. Her subsequent features In Your Hands (2004) and Little Soldier (2008) were also selected for Berlin, with the latter receiving the festival's ecumenical prize. She directed four episodes of the first season of the series Borgen (2010) and the feature The Shooter (2013). Later works include A Matter of Trust (2022), which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Olesen has worked as a teacher at the National Film School of Denmark and served on the boards of Danish Directors and broadcaster TV 2.
