Biography
Annie Golden is an American actress and singer. Born on 19 October 1951 in Brooklyn, New York, she began her career as lead singer of the band The Shirts, which performed at CBGB in the late 1970s. She made her Broadway debut in the 1977 revival of Hair and appeared as Jeannie Ryan in the 1979 film adaptation.
Golden has appeared in films including Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), Baby Boom (1987), Longtime Companion (1989), 12 Monkeys (1995) as Woman Cabbie, and I Love You Phillip Morris (2009). On television she had recurring roles in Miami Vice and Cheers, and played Norma Romano in Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019).
Her stage credits include roles in Leader of the Pack, Ah, Wilderness!, On the Town, The Full Monty, and the original off-Broadway production of Assassins as Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme.
