Biography
Antoinette Sibley is a British prima ballerina. Born on 27 February 1939 in Bromley, she trained at the Royal Ballet School and joined the Royal Ballet in 1956, becoming a soloist in 1960. She became particularly noted for her partnership with dancer Anthony Dowell.
Sibley appeared in the 1977 film The Turning Point as Sevilla Haslam. She was appointed CBE in 1973 for services to ballet and later DBE. She retired from dancing in 1989 and subsequently served as President of the Royal Academy of Dance.
