Biography
Aoi Yamada (山田 葵, Yamada Aoi) is a Japanese dancer, model and actress based in Tokyo. Born on 24 June 2000 in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, her dance practice draws on expressionist and butoh influences. In 2021 she performed at the closing ceremony of the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Yamada made her acting debut in 2021 in a minor role in the Wowow drama series FM 999: 999 Women's Songs. She subsequently appeared as Uta Komori in the television series First Love (2022) and as Aya in the film Perfect Days (2023), directed by Wim Wenders. She is also credited in Her Private Hell (2026) as Ms. S.
