Biography
Arka Das is an Australian actor, director and screenwriter. Born in Bangladesh, he emigrated to Australia as a child and grew up in Sydney. He began his career in theatre, receiving a nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2010 Sydney Theatre Awards for his role in Animals Out of Paper at the Ensemble Theatre.
Das has appeared in films including Lion (2016) as Sami, Mulan (2020) as Red Fez, Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) as Sycophant God, Babyteeth (2020) as Shaun and The Portable Door (2023) as Neville. On television he has played Justin in Colin from Accounts (2022), Nishant Patel in Shantaram (2022) and Liam in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023). He is the writer, associate producer and star of the anthology feature Here Out West (2022), which received an AACTA nomination for Best Film, and he hosted the accompanying ABC series 8 Nights Out West. He has also been nominated for a Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Supporting Actor.
