Biography
Arkady Strugatsky was a Soviet-Russian science fiction writer. He collaborated with his brother Boris Strugatsky on novels, short stories and screenplays from the late 1950s until his death.
The brothers wrote the screenplay for Andrei Tarkovsky's film Stalker (1979), based on their novel Roadside Picnic. Strugatsky is credited as writer and novelist on the film. Other works adapted for the screen include Dead Mountaineer's Hotel (1979) and Magicians (1982).
He was born on 28 August 1925 in Batumi and died on 12 October 1991 in Moscow. He trained as a military interpreter before working as an editor and writer.
