Biography
Arnold Margolin is an American television writer, producer and occasional director and actor. Born on 12 March 1935 in Rock Island, Illinois, he began writing for series in the mid-1960s, contributing episodes to programmes including The Andy Griffith Show, That Girl and My Mother the Car.
He wrote the episode 'His Two Right Arms' for The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1972). Margolin served as executive producer on Love, American Style (1969–1974), for which he shared an Emmy Award in 1970 for the theme song (with Charles Fox) and received nominations for outstanding comedy series. He created the series A Family for Joe (1990) and wrote episodes of Growing Pains, Touched by an Angel and The Wild Thornberrys. He is the brother of actor Stuart Margolin.
