Biography
Art Wallace was an American television writer. He began his career in the 1940s, contributing to anthology series including Studio One and Kraft Television Theater.
Wallace is best known for his foundational work on the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows (1966), for which he wrote the series bible and the first several weeks of episodes. He also wrote two episodes of Star Trek (1966): "Obsession" (1967) and "Assignment: Earth" (1968, co-written with Gene Roddenberry). Other credits include episodes of Combat! (1962), The Invaders (1967), Planet of the Apes (1974) and Space: 1999 (1975), as well as serving as story consultant on All My Children in the 1980s. He died in December 1994. His wife, Elizabeth Wallace, was also a television scriptwriter.
