Biography
Arthur Hambling (1888–1952) was a British character actor. Born in Reading, Berkshire, he began his stage career in 1912 and later appeared in West End productions including N.C. Hunter's Grouse in June (1939). He transitioned to film in the early 1930s.
Hambling is known for supporting roles in several notable British films of the 1940s and 1950s. These include Bates, a soldier in Laurence Olivier's Henry V (1944), Tom in Carol Reed's Odd Man Out (1947), and Wallis in the Ealing comedy The Lavender Hill Mob (1951). He also appeared in It Always Rains on Sunday (1947). His final screen work included television appearances in the early 1950s.
