Biography

Arthur Miller was an American playwright and screenwriter. He was born in New York City on 17 October 1915 and died on 10 February 2005.

Miller's best-known plays include All My Sons (1947), Death of a Salesman (1949), The Crucible (1953) and A View from the Bridge (1955). He wrote the screenplay for the 1996 film adaptation of The Crucible, directed by Nicholas Hytner, as well as for The Misfits (1961). Death of a Salesman is widely regarded as one of the major American plays of the twentieth century.
