Biography
Artur Barciś is a Polish actor and director. Born on 12 August 1956 in Kokawa, he graduated from the National Film School in Łódź in 1979. He began his career at the Targówek Theatre (1979–1981) and the National Theatre (1982–1984), and has been a member of the Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw since 1984.
Barciś is known for his appearances in Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Dekalog (1989), playing roles including the worker in Decalogue V, the man in the sheepskin in Decalogue I, the tram driver in Decalogue III and the young man with canoe in Decalogue IV. He has also appeared in A Short Film About Killing (1988) and A Short Film About Love (1988). On television he played Tadeusz Norek in Miodowe lata (1998–2003) and Arkadiusz Czerepach in Ranczo (2006–2016).
He has worked with directors including Andrzej Wajda and Agnieszka Holland, and appeared in films such as Europa Europa (1990) and Forgotten Love (2023).
