Biography
Artur Brauner was a German film producer of Polish-Jewish origin. Born Abraham Brauner on 1 August 1918 in Łódź, Poland, he fled with his family to the Soviet Union during the Nazi occupation of Poland and settled in Berlin after the Second World War.
In 1946 he founded the production company CCC Film. He produced more than 300 films, among them The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (1970), The Garden of the Finzi-Continis (1970) and Europa Europa (1990). Brauner died on 7 July 2019 in Berlin.
