Biography
Arturo de Córdova, born Arturo García Rodríguez, was a Mexican actor. He appeared in more than one hundred films, primarily in Mexico, and also worked in the United States, Spain and other Latin American countries.
He made his Hollywood debut in the 1940s, playing Agustín in For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943). Other American films from this period include Frenchman's Creek (1944), Incendiary Blonde (1945) and New Orleans (1947). In Mexico he became a leading man during the golden age of Mexican cinema and starred in films such as Él (1953) and The Skeleton of Mrs. Morales (1960).
Córdova won three Ariel Awards for Best Actor, for En la palma de tu mano (1951), Las tres perfectas casadas (1953) and Feliz año, amor mío (1957).
