Biography
Arturo Soto Rangel (12 March 1882 – 25 May 1965) was a Mexican film, television and stage actor. Born in León, Guanajuato, he appeared in more than 250 Mexican films from the late 1930s until the early 1960s, often in supporting or uncredited roles such as doctors, priests and judges.
He is known for work in titles including Maclovia (1948), The Big Steal (1949), Garden of Evil (1954) and Enamorada (1946). Soto Rangel played El Presidente in the American film The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948). He won an Ariel Award for Best Actor in a Minor Role for Maclovia (1949) and received a nomination for the same category for Las Abandonadas (1945). His final screen appearance was in the 1963 television production Voy de gallo.
