Biography
Arvin Brown (born 24 May 1940) is an American theatre and television director. Born in Los Angeles, he served as artistic director of the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, from 1967 to 1997.
He made his Broadway directorial debut in 1970 with a revival of Noël Coward's Hay Fever and went on to direct numerous Broadway productions, including The National Health (1974), Ah, Wilderness! (1975), A View from the Bridge (1983), American Buffalo (1983) and All My Sons (1987). Brown directed the feature film Diary of the Dead (1976) and episodes of many television series, including Party of Five (1994), Picket Fences, Dawson's Creek, The Practice, Ally McBeal, The Closer, Leverage, Lie to Me and multiple episodes of NCIS.
He was married to actress Joyce Ebert from 1969 until her death in 1997.
