Biography
Astrid Hadad is a Mexican performance artist, singer and actress known for her political cabaret work. She trained in theatre at the National Autonomous University of Mexico after initially studying political science and journalism.
She gained prominence in 1985 with the all-female opera adaptation Donna Giovanni, directed by Jesusa Rodríguez. Hadad has created and starred in her own shows, including Heavy Nopal, and has collaborated with the group Los Tarzanes on performances such as La Mujer Ladrina and Apocalipsis Ranchero. She has also appeared in telenovelas, including Teresa (1989), and films such as Sólo con tu pareja (1991), in which she played Teresa de Teresa, 4 Moons (2014) and Love of My Loves (2014).
