Biography
Aurélien Recoing is a French actor and stage director. Born on 5 May 1958 in Paris, he trained at the Cours Florent from 1974 and joined the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in 1977, studying under Jean-Pierre Miquel and Antoine Vitez. He has appeared in more than thirty plays and directed stage works including pieces by Thomas Bernhard, Fernando Pessoa and Paul Claudel. In 1989 he received the Prix Gérard Philipe.
Recoing made his film debut in Exploits of a Young Don Juan (1986). He is known for roles in Time Out (2001), 13 Tzameti (2006), Ruby & Quentin (2003), The Horde (2010), My Worst Nightmare (2011), Switch (2011), Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) as Adèle's father, Adults in the Room (2019) and Black Box (2021).
