Biography
Ayanna Floyd Davis is a television writer and producer. She received an MFA from Columbia College Chicago and moved to Los Angeles in 1998. She was the first TV drama writing fellow selected for the Walt Disney Studios/ABC Writers' Fellowship Program and began her career with an episode of the medical drama Gideon's Crossing (2000).
Her credits include writing and producing on medical series such as Private Practice (2007–2011) and Strong Medicine, as well as Hannibal (2014), Falling Skies (2015), Empire (2015–2016), Hit the Floor and The Chi (2018–2019), where she served as showrunner for the second season. Later work includes The Best Man: The Final Chapters (2022) and Power Book II: Ghost (2024). She has also held leadership roles including vice president of the Organization of Black Screenwriters.
