Biography
Babak Anvari is a British-Iranian filmmaker. He was born in 1983 in Tehran, Iran, and studied at the University of Westminster.
Anvari made his feature directorial debut with the horror film Under the Shadow (2016), which he also wrote. It won the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. His subsequent features as director and writer include Wounds (2019) and I Came By (2022). He has also produced films including Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother (2026).
With producer Lucan Toh, Anvari co-founded the production company Two & Two Pictures.
