Biography

Barbara Bach is an American actress and model, also credited as Barbara Ann Goldbach. Born in Queens, New York, she began modelling at the age of sixteen before moving to Italy, where she started her acting career in the late 1960s with roles in Italian films and television, including L'Odissea (1968).

She appeared in several European productions such as Short Night of Glass Dolls (1971) and The Black Belly of the Tarantula (1971). Bach is best known for portraying Major Anya Amasova in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). Subsequent credits include Force 10 from Navarone (1978) and Caveman (1981). She married musician Ringo Starr in 1981 and largely retired from acting in the mid-1980s.
