Biography
Barbara Everest was a British stage and film actress. She made her screen debut in the 1916 film The Man Without a Soul and appeared in numerous films over five decades.
She is known for roles including Elizabeth in Gaslight (1944), Lizzie Flynn in The Uninvited (1944), the Aunt in Phantom of the Opera (1943), Lady Ingram in Jane Eyre (1943), and the Mother Superior in El Cid (1961). On stage she played Queen Anne in the 1935 play Viceroy Sarah by Norman Ginsbury.
