Biography
Barbara Hale was an American actress. She was born on 18 April 1922 in DeKalb, Illinois, and died on 26 January 2017.
Hale appeared in numerous films in the 1940s and 1950s under contract to RKO Radio Pictures. Her roles included Mary Woodry in The Window (1949) and Ellen Clark in Jolson Sings Again (1949). She played Sarah Demerest in the ensemble film Airport (1970).
She is best known for portraying legal secretary Della Street in the television series Perry Mason (1957–1966) and in 30 made-for-television films. The role earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1959. Her son is the actor William Katt.
