Biography
Barbara Lawrence, also credited as Barbara Jo Lawrence, was an American actress and model. Born in Carnegie, Oklahoma, she began her career as a child model before making her film debut in Diamond Horseshoe (1945). She appeared in a number of 20th Century Fox productions in the late 1940s, including Margie (1946), The Street with No Name (1948), Unfaithfully Yours (1948) and Thieves' Highway (1949).
Lawrence is known for her role as Georgiana 'Babe' Finney in A Letter to Three Wives (1949) and as Gertie Cummings in the film adaptation of Oklahoma! (1955). Her other screen credits include The Star (1952), Man with the Gun (1955) and Man in the Shadow (1957). She also made guest appearances on television series such as Perry Mason and Bonanza. Her acting career spanned from 1945 to 1962; she later worked as a real estate agent.
