Biography

Bárbara Luz, also credited as Bárbara Castro Luz, is a Brazilian actress. Born on 29 May 2002 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, she is the daughter of actors Eduardo Moreira and Inês Peixoto, members of the theatre company Grupo Galpão.

She began acting as a child and appeared in the 2017 film Unicorn as Maria. Luz is known for her role as Nalu in the 2024 film I'm Still Here (also released as Ainda Estou Aqui), directed by Walter Salles. Other credits include Cinco da Tarde (2023) as Anabel and the television series Damned Saint (2023) as Gabriela. She has also directed and written short films.

Luz has studied theatre theory at the Sorbonne in Paris. Her performance in I'm Still Here contributed to the film's international recognition, including an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film in 2025.
