Biography
Barney Martin (1923–2005) was an American actor. He played Ralph Marolla in the film Arthur (1981) and its sequel Arthur 2: On the Rocks (1988). He is best known for portraying Morty Seinfeld, father of the title character, in the sitcom Seinfeld (1991–1998).
Martin appeared in supporting roles in films including The Producers (1967) as Göring. His television credits include episodes of Full House, The Wonder Years, The Golden Girls and Murder, She Wrote. He originated the role of Amos Hart in the 1975 Broadway production of the musical Chicago.
Before acting, Martin served as a navigator in the US Army Air Force during the Second World War and worked for twenty years as a New York City police detective.
