Biography
Barry Burns is a Scottish musician and multi-instrumentalist, best known as a member of the post-rock band Mogwai. He joined the group in 1998, shortly before the recording of their second album Come on Die Young, having previously contributed as a flautist and pianist on early gigs.
Burns studied music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow but did not complete his degree. He plays guitar, keyboards, flute and other instruments, and contributes vocals often processed through a vocoder. Mogwai's soundtrack work includes the score for the 2022 series Black Bird.
