Biography
Barry De Vorzon is an American composer, singer, songwriter and record producer. Born in New York City on 31 July 1934, he began as a pop musician in the 1960s and co-founded Valiant Records, where he signed and produced acts including the Association.
From the 1970s he became known for film and television scores. His credits include Rolling Thunder (1977), The Warriors (1979), Xanadu (1980), The Ninth Configuration (1980), Night of the Creeps (1986) and The Exorcist III (1990). He also wrote the theme for the television series S.W.A.T. and co-wrote the Eagles song "In the City".
De Vorzon won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement for "Nadia's Theme" and received an Academy Award nomination for the song "Bless the Beasts and Children". He is a six-time Daytime Emmy winner.
