Biography
Barry Purchese is a British television writer. He began his career contributing scripts to Grange Hill, writing 53 episodes between 1982 and 1992, and created the spin-off series Tucker's Luck (1983–1984).
He has written episodes for several long-running series, including Minder (1984), The Bill (1994), Casualty (1989) and two episodes of Midsomer Murders (2007–2010). Purchese also wrote the screenplay for the 1999 television film Junk, for which he won a BAFTA award, and adapted The Coral Island (2000).
