Biography
Barry Wong Ping-Yiu, also credited as Wong Ping-Yiu or Barry Wong (Chinese: 黃炳耀), was a Hong Kong screenwriter, film producer and actor. He worked extensively in Hong Kong cinema during the 1980s and early 1990s, writing scripts for action and comedy films.
He contributed screenplays to Hard Boiled (1992), Armour of God (1986), Twin Dragons (1992), My Lucky Stars (1985), Winners & Sinners (1983), Heart of Dragon (1985), Fight Back to School (1991), Twinkle, Twinkle Lucky Stars (1985), Dragon Lord (1982) and Mr. Vampire (1985). Wong collaborated with directors including John Woo, Sammo Hung and Jackie Chan. Hard Boiled was dedicated to him following his death.
He also appeared in supporting acting roles in several films. Wong died in 1991 during a trip to Germany.
