Biography
Beatrice Evelyn Varley (also credited as Beatrice Varley) was an English actress who appeared in film and television roles from 1936 until her death. She made her screen debut in the 1936 film Tomorrow We Live and went on to play a variety of supporting character parts, often as housekeepers, landladies or aunts.
Her film credits include The Man in Grey (1943), They Made Me a Fugitive (1947), Hell Drivers (1957) as Tom's Mother, Room at the Top (1959) as Aunt, and Horrors of the Black Museum (1959) as Aggie. She began her career as a girl soprano and instrumentalist at the age of 14 and later worked extensively in television.
Varley was born in Manchester, Lancashire, and died in Ealing, London, in 1964.
