Biography
Becky Read is a British documentary producer and director. She has developed and produced documentaries for BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Discovery Channel and National Geographic, covering topics from the financial crisis to the death penalty. At Raw TV she contributed to series including Locked Up Abroad and No Man Left Behind, and produced Life and Death in Chicago for BBC1 and a film about a rare form of dementia for Channel 4.
Read produced the feature documentary Three Identical Strangers (2018), directed by Tim Wardle. She was selected for the BBC’s director initiative and has since directed Killer in Our Classroom: Never Again (2018), ’Twas the Fight Before Christmas (2021) and episodes of Kursk: 10 Days That Shaped Putin (2025). Three Identical Strangers was her first feature documentary.
