Biography
Ben Bard, also credited as Benjamin Greenberg, was an American actor. He played Col. Brissac in the 1927 film 7th Heaven.
Born Benjamin Greenberg in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on 26 January 1893, Bard began his career in vaudeville and musical theatre as straight man to comedian Jack Pearl. He appeared in films from the mid-1920s to the mid-1940s, including The Seventh Victim (1943) as Mr. Brun, The Leopard Man (1943) as Police Chief Robles, and The Ghost Ship (1943) as First Officer Bowns. In the 1930s he founded the Ben Bard Dramatic School in Hollywood and later headed the New Talent Department at Twentieth Century-Fox. He died in Los Angeles on 17 May 1974.
