Biography
Ben Cory Jones is a television writer and producer. He began his career in finance on Wall Street after graduating from Morehouse College, where he studied English and finance, before transitioning to screenwriting following the 2008 recession.
He contributed to series including Hand of God (2014) as staff writer and Underground (2017) as story editor. Jones was an original writer and producer on the HBO series Insecure (2016), working as story editor and executive story editor across its early seasons. He later served as showrunner and creator on the BET series Boomerang (2019–2020).
Jones has also produced films such as Step Sisters (2018). He is from Memphis, Tennessee, where he attended Central High School and wrote for the teen newspaper The Teen Appeal.
