Biography

Ben Kutchins is an American cinematographer. He began his career with an internship at Industrial Light & Magic, later studying film at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He shot numerous short films and independent features before working on the 2014 film Veronica Mars and the series Mozart in the Jungle.

Kutchins has served as director of photography on the Netflix series Ozark (2017–2020), receiving two Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and on the HBO series The White Lotus (2021–), for which he earned a further nomination. His other credits include the films The Art of Getting By (2011), Sleeping with Other People (2015), Clouds (2020) and Boston Strangler (2023), the latter also nominated for an Emmy. He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
