Biography
Ben Markson, also credited as Benjamin Markson, was an American screenwriter. He began his career as a journalist before working in the publicity department at Paramount Pictures. His first film credit was as co-writer on the 1928 silent film The River Pirate.
Markson contributed to numerous films during the 1930s, including the dialogue for Gold Diggers of 1933, the screenplay for What Price Hollywood? (1932), and both the story and screenplay for Here Comes the Navy (1934). He continued writing for films into the 1950s and contributed teleplays for television series such as The Cisco Kid.
Markson was born on 6 August 1897 in Creston, Iowa, and died on 20 October 1971 in Los Angeles County, California.
