Biography
Ben Snyder is a writer, producer, director and playwright. He wrote one episode of the HBO series Betty (2020–2021) and served as producer on six episodes. He was a staff writer on the Netflix series Grand Army (2020).
Snyder wrote and directed the feature films 11:55 (2016) and Allswell in New York (2022), the latter of which won the Best Screenplay Award in the U.S. Narrative Feature category at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival. He was story consultant on the documentary The Wolfpack (2015). His short films have screened at Cannes, Aspen and Austin film festivals and on PBS.
Snyder has taught screenwriting at Brooklyn College’s Feirstein School since 2018. He is a member of Labyrinth Theater Company. His plays have been produced at venues including P.S. 122, the Vineyard Theater and the Apollo Theater, and have received NAACP Image Award nominations.
