Biography
Benjamin Daniel Lobato is a writer, producer and director whose television credits include the series Justified (2010), for which he wrote one episode, and Queen of the South (2016–2021), on which he served as writer, producer and co-showrunner.
He began his career writing episodes of The Unit (2009) and has additional writing credits on Against the Wall (2011), Shades of Blue (2014–2016) and Ice (2016). He also directed an episode of Queen of the South and has produced short films.
Lobato holds an MFA in dramatic writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and degrees in media arts and creative writing from the University of Arizona. Prior to his screenwriting career he served as a military police officer and member of a Joint Counter-Narco-Terrorism Task Force.
