Biography
Benno Fürmann is a German actor. He was born on 17 January 1972 in Kreuzberg, Berlin.
Fürmann studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York. He first gained attention in German television, including the series Und tschüss! (1994–1995) and Sperling (1996–1999). His breakthrough came with the title role in the television film Die Bubi Scholz Story (1998), for which he received the German Television Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
He has appeared in international films including Joyeux Noel (2005), North Face (2008) as Toni Kurz, Speed Racer (2008), and In Darkness (2011). Since 2017 he has played Oberst Günter Wendt in the series Babylon Berlin.
