Biography
Benoît Delhomme is a French cinematographer and film director. He graduated from the École nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière in 1982 and worked as an assistant cameraman on Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources (both 1986) before becoming a director of photography on feature films in the early 1990s.
His credits include The Scent of Green Papaya (1993), The Proposition (2005), The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (2008), One Day (2011), Lawless (2012), A Most Wanted Man (2014), The Theory of Everything (2014), Free State of Jones (2016), At Eternity's Gate (2018) and Mothers' Instinct (2024). He was nominated for the César Award for Best Cinematography for Artemisia (1997) and received the Special Jury Prize at the Chicago International Film Festival for What Time Is It There? (2001) and the AFI Award for Best Cinematography for The Proposition (2005). In 2024 he made his directorial debut with Mothers' Instinct.
