Biography

Bernard Barrow was an American actor and collegiate drama professor. He appeared in the 1968 film Rachel, Rachel as Leighton Siddley.

Barrow's television work included the role of Johnny Ryan on the soap opera Ryan's Hope from 1975 to 1989 and Louie Slavinsky on Loving from 1989 until his death. He also appeared in films such as Serpico (1973), Claudine (1974) and The Survivors (1983), and guest roles in series including Kojak, Get Smart and Law & Order. He won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 1991 for his work on Loving.

He taught theatre and drama at Brooklyn College from 1955 to 1983 and directed summer stock and community theatre. Barrow died in New York City in 1993.
