Biography
Bernard Le Coq is a French actor born on 25 September 1950 in Le Blanc, Indre. He has appeared in more than 150 films since 1967 and is also credited as Bernard Lecoq.
He trained at the cours Claude Viriot in Paris from the age of 15. His early screen roles include César et Rosalie (1972) and Hearth Fires (1972). He is known for performances in Van Gogh (1991), Caché (2005), Joyeux Noël (2005), Capital (2012) and The Conquest (2011), in which he played Jacques Chirac.
Le Coq won the César Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2003 for his role in Beautiful Memories (2002). He has worked extensively in television, including the long-running series Une famille formidable, and on stage.
